I thought this would be interesting to include here. I spent a few years working in a mascot costume shop.
This a job we did for the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources. A naturalistic Perch costume. You can see
the process here. I carved the head from Ethafoam and contstructed the body from foam sheets. A covering
was sewn with spandex that I then airbrushed with acrylic fabric paints. The fins were laid up in urathane
rubber with styrene spines, and the eyes were cast in clear resin. 1990.
